Postcard A is one of a set of three postcards created by St Dunstan's, the organisation founded in 1915 with the aim of supporting blind servicemen. The fundraising picture postcards were created during the Great War to aid the hospital in its vital work and to raise awareness for the men who lost their sight in the war. This postcard is entitled "Blinded For You", as were many of the St Dunstan's offerings.
Postcard B is titled "THE CHILD HE WILL NEVER SEE!". It was a special fundraising postcard, created to support the "The Blinded Soldiers' and Sailors' Children Fund". The illustration is a painting by Gordon Brown, R.I.
The illustration for "BLINDED FOR YOU" (Postcard C) is by R. Caton Woodville. Woodville, a painter in oils and watercolours, travelled extensively, often reporting from the battle‑front.
